TH supplies filter press for environment sector in Canada
TH has produced a filter press for the Canadian environment sector, for use specifically in treating sludge from industrial washing operations.
A standout feature of the unit is that it is designed to work at high pressure. Both the filter and the pump can work at up to 16 bar, so it can process even sludge that is hard to filter due to its ultra-fine grain size or to the presence of colloids, hydrocarbons and other substances.
The filter also incorporates TH's exclusively designed plates with steel cores and completely flat surfaces to facilitate the unloading of cake. This gives it the advantage of not needing human operators.
Sludge is fed into the filtration chambers individually via hoses, which ensures maximum consistency in cakes and in the filtration process. Filter water is also drained off by hoses.
Finally, the filter incorporates a TH hydraulic power unit mounted on its frame that drives both the hydraulic filter opening and closing system and the positive displacement (piston-membrane) sludge pump, also manufactured by TH. This reduces filter power consumption.
In short, it is sturdy and easy to handle and operate, since it is fully automatic and features a plc built into the main electrical panel. The panel incorporates colour touch-screen and an HMI (Human-Machine Interface) that enables the operating parameters of the filter to be controlled at all times and permits customised configurations.
