TH has successfully commissioned Orisha´s filtration project´s 1st APN 20 Filter Press

We have successfully commissioned the 1st APN 20 filter press of our iron ore concentrate filtration project in Orisha (India) for M/s Essel Mining & Industries Limited (erstwhile Prominerals).

This new filtration project system was awarded in September 2021 and its scope includes the design, manufacture, and implement all the filtration equipment necessary for the plant upgrade, such as APN 20 filter presses and ancillary items like slurry & water pumps, and respective valves. The two APN 20 filter presses´ advanced design is based on mechanical simplicity and robustness which makes for easier operation and maintenance of equipment. They will produce filter cakes with moisture in the range of 9.5 -9.8% and will help M/s Essel Mining & Industries Limited to increase the Pellet production from their Pellet plant in Orisha.

A combination of centrifugal and positive displacement pumps will be used to pump the slurry into the filter presses. TH´s SIX positive displacement slurry pumps are capable of pumping even the most abrasive slurries while working in high operating ranges (up to 80 m3/h and up to 16 bar). The slurry pumps have been specifically designed for filter press fillings and abrasive slurry pumping processes.

M/s Essel Mining & Industries Limited´s iron ore beneficiation and Pelletization plant, has been working since 2019 and produces one million tons of Pellets per year. Recently, the company was acquired by Essel Mining & Industries Limited, which belong to Aditya Birla Group.
